You will learn the basics of throwing, trimming, decorating techniques, and glazing. You will also be shown how to throw cups, bowls, jars, and candlesticks - tall, short, large, and small. Depending on your skill level, we will help you further develop your abilities.
Session 1: Demonstration of centering and throwing a cylinder
Session 2: Demonstration of trimming
Sessions 3-5: Practice and demonstration of various techniques
Session 6: Porcelain clay
Session 7: Glazing
The teaching consists mainly of practical work under the guidance of the course leader. Everyone has their own potter's wheel throughout the course.
Sustainable materials
In the courses, we work with two different stoneware clays. The advantage of stoneware is that the fired products are very durable and that the glazes are more environmentally friendly. At Drejverkstaden, we are very mindful of the environment and work according to a sustainability plan in everything we do. The clays we purchase come from Witgerts, which has a strong environmental policy. We strive to mix the glazes as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible. We pre-rinse all our glazing tools.
Where
