Prerequisites
The course is suitable for both complete beginners and those with previous experience. The teaching takes place in the form of individual guidance, and you have good opportunities to develop if you take multiple courses or sessions. A certificate of completion will be provided if desired.
Course structure and content
You will learn the basics of throwing, trimming, decoration techniques, and glazing. You will also be shown how to throw cups, bowls, jars, plates, and candlesticks - tall, short, large, and small. Depending on your skill level, we will help you further develop.
The teaching consists mainly of practical work under the guidance of the course leader. Everyone has their own potter's wheel throughout the course. The group consists of a maximum of 15 participants.
Sustainable materials
In the courses, we work with two different stoneware clays. The advantage of stoneware is that the fired goods are very durable and that the glazes are lead-free. At the pottery studio, we are very mindful of the environment and work in everything we do according to a sustainability plan. The clays we purchase come from Witgerts, which has a strong environmental policy. We strive to mix lead-free glazes and natural colorants, such as blue clay, terracotta, etc., as much as possible.
Where
In the pottery studio's fine course facilities at Holländargatan 33, Stockholm.
