The course fee includes:
- approximately 15kg of stoneware clay
- Coffee/tea and snack items after lunch
- Opportunity to leave your work clothes and shoes over the weekend
Prerequisites
To get the most out of the course, you need to be able to center one kilogram of clay and have the willingness to dive into throwing techniques.
Course structure and content
The focus is on the basics that can help you make your first plates as well as refine your technique for customer orders. Stefan will demonstrate various types of dishes, how to attach a throwing plate, and go through the grip that helps you center the clay effectively, even with larger dishes. On the second day, we will continue with trimming foot rings and polishing the undersides, and Stefan will show how to glaze dishes smoothly.
Everyone has their own potter's wheel throughout the course. The group consists of a maximum of 15 participants.

In the courses, we work with stoneware clay from Witgerts. At the Pottery Studio, we are very mindful of the environment and operate according to a sustainability plan in everything we do. The clays we purchase come as much as possible from Witgerts, which has a strong environmental policy.
